Give more for your money
Payroll giving is a method where regular tax
efficient payments are deducted from your salary
and sent to the charity of your choice. Giving regularly
through your pay allows Boo to plan for your
future and ensure we can help people most in need
now.
Thanks to radical tax changes introduced by the
Government in April 2000, payroll giving
is now the single most effective way to provide
regular support for charity.
The main benefits for individuals are:
-
donations
are taken from your gross salary so the
charity also benefits from receiving the
tax. See the tax table below
-
you will
receive an extra 10% from the Government on top
of any Give As You Earn donation
-
you can make
your donations anonymously if you choose
-
you have
the opportunity to build a relationship with the
charities you support
-
you can start,
stop and change donations when you wish and there
are a variety of options to cater for regular
or more ad-hoc giving

How does it work?
In any £1.00 that you earn, 22p (on normal
tax rate) will go on tax. If you pledge a gift to charity
then the Inland Revenue is not entitled to it. Although
it only costs you 78p, the charity receives the whole
£1. Also, with the Government's extra 10% for
every £1 you pledge, Boo will receive £1.10.
Frequently asked questions:
Can I give anonymously?
Yes: If you do not wish to receive any correspondence
from Boo, we will respect your wish. If however, you
would like to become more involved with our work or
receive information on how your money is being spent,
we can provide this information on a regular basis.
How do I arrange it?
It couldn't be simpler: Click
here and print a straightforward form. Fill
the form out and pass it to your payroll administrator,
they'll do the rest.
Do I have to commit for a long time?
No: If your circumstances change and you no longer want
to donate through your pay, inform your Payroll Department
that you want the payments to cease.
